Kamili, Mnarani, Kilifi, Kenya
Kamili is a pretty villa situated in two acres of gently sloping, fenced
garden on the southern shore on the mouth of the Kilifi Creek, with views
of
the Indian ocean, and a short walk down steps to a private beach.

The main house is built on one level with two wings, each with a pair of
bedrooms, one double and one twin. The master bedrooms have king size
beds,
ceiling fan, and ensuite bathroom. The primary master bedroom also has
its
own patio and star-shower. There is a central dining and lounge room,
filled
with Elephant rubbed furniture from Tsavo West.
The house is fully staffed, so that your every whim is looked after. You
decide what of the local produce you would like to eat, and the staff
will
set up exquisite meals for you, either out under the stars in the >
sunspot,
or inside around a traditional dining table. The staff will invite the
local
fishermen to come with their wares; just ask and they will arrange.
There is a snug, with TV and DVD player.
The patio around the pool offers lots of space for sun-worshippers to
soak
up the rays, it also features umbrellas and beds which the staff will
put
out where you like them.
The garden is large and fully planted with beautiful tropical plants.
There
are many sunny corners to sit and enjoy the garden, such as the sunspot
and
bench situated to give the best view of the Creek mouth. The traffic in
and
out of the Creek passes below the house where the deep water chanel is.
There are all sorts of small animals, with Monitor lizards living in the
cliff, and Monkeys who come to steal the fruit from the trees on the
plot.
There is a lot of harmless insect life, and a lot of bats who eat them.
The
Baobab trees which characterize the views are strange and sometimes in
leaf,
looking otherwise as if they were planted upside down, as the legend
goes. |
